I will show you how to show hidden files and folders in windows 7
1.You click the Start button 
, then you click Control Panel, next you click Appearance and Personalization, and then you click Folder Options
2.You click the View tab.
3.Under Advanced settings, you click Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then you click OK.
What is a hidden file?
You can choose whether a file is hidden or visible by changing its properties. Here’s how to do this:
1.You right-click a file icon, and then you click Properties.
2.Next to Attributes, select the Hidden check box, and then click OK.
